Couple of articles on Nick's winning the Spink award:

What a cool and deserving honor. Good to hear stories such as these in today's times. Congrats to Nick.

Loved reading Nick as a kid growing up and following him from the Oakland Tribune and on to Sacramento. A big day for NoCals in Cooperstown.

Nice to see baseball acknowledge those in the profession.

At the end of Nick's speech, he makes it clear he doesn't blog or tweet. Immediately, I figured he was going to get torched by the bloggers and new-media embracers who so often rush to the "good riddance, dinosaur" tone when someone says today's technology is not for them.

Hoping it hasn't happened. Anyone see anything?

I went to high school with a guy named Nick Peters. He had to quit the swim team because he got a flesh eating bacteria from swimming the Ypsilanti High School swimming pool.
