Nice feature on Larry Lage (AP Detroit sports editor) and his father

I don't know Larry the Younger too well, having just attended a few AP state conferences and still being relatively green and all, but he's always been easy-going, friendly, professional and quick to respond to just about anything for me.

A good story about a good guy.

Again, I don't know (younger) Larry personally, but I thought his work last night in a unique situation was great.

He had three interesting storylines at Ford Field, and sent out well-written stories about them all:

    1. The "free tickets" fiasco and how it turned into a scalper's nightmare

    2. Favre ending his games-started streak as he was declared inactive for the game

    3. The Giants winning an important game in the NFC East race.

And all of this on short notice, after I'm sure a long Sunday covering the Packers-Lions game.

I don't praise AP very often, but that's a solid effort.

Larry Lage and Dave Hogg are two of the better AP guys around, Detroit is lucky to have both of them.
