Well, the Shanny spoofs and King Henry's accidental F-bomb were pretty damn funny.

It's usually not a good thing when a team is drafting first overall for three straight years.

    Who said it was?
At the very least you do get a nice prize out of it. But fuck does it suck.

Lots of trade possibilities over the next few days

Bobrovski is already in Columbus for three picks.

Jordan Staal is on the market after turning down a 10-year deal in Pittsburgh

Jason Garrison can be had out of Florida, although he is a UFA, conditional pick for first shot at signing him.

Nik Hjalmarsson in Chicago apparently is in play to get a second line centre.

Yandle in Phoenix is also rumoured to be on the market. Financial issues as always in the desery and needing to get OEL signed long term

The Nash saga continues as does Luongo's

And of course the Oilers take Yakupov, no surprise there.

Blue Jackets take Murray from Everett.

Ducks have also sent Visnovsky to the Islanders for a second round pick.

And Tim Thomas has waived his no-trade clause in Boston. Toronto on deck?

I hope all these high draft picks Edmonton has had in recent years start paying off in the next or two. So far, I'm not overwhelmed with Kevin Lowe as a personnel man. But, time till tell, I guess. Takes a lot of patience.

How much would a team give up for Roberto Luongo? Talk was the Maple Leafs were interested, but I wonder at what price?

They better start paying off. But they made no doubt bones about it three years ago that they were going to tear everything down and rebuild and that the next couple of years would suck.

As far as Lowe goes. He built them into a team that went to the cup in 2006 and got dealt a shitty hand with Pronger after the playoffs which forced a mini rebuild that didn't pan out. It has been Tambellini running it the last four years. Lowe certainly still has his influence but it is Tambellini with the final say.

Am I thrilled with the way things have gone lately? Hells no.

Leafs take Moose Jaws Morgan Reily. Because they needed more defence.
