In other news...... the trade deadline passes without so much as a whimper.

That is not news. This is the NFL.

Rice torched Sanders in many games.
    Check the game logs.

    Google "Charles Dimry" some time.

Brent Jones was a good receiver and route runner, but strength wasn't his, um, strength.

The first play you described reminds me of the only time I ever saw Sam lose his cool. IIRC, the officials weren't certain of the call. Mills unloaded on the officials. Wonder to this day if the officials factored in that he wasn't usually the arguing sort into their decision to, rightfully, award the Panthers the ball following the touchback. I'm not certain the officials were all that certain it was a touchback and should have been Carolina's ball before Mills made his case.

Also remember the stunned crowd and Fox playing "Carolina In My Mind" from James Taylor with the score graphic on the screen before sending the broadcast back to the studio.

OK. I'm well aware of Charles Dimry and covered a team he played on.

Which has what to do with anything in my post?

Nothing. Just in reference to the discussion about Rice's greatness.

Cool. Yes, Dimry was absolutely shredded by Rice.

Strange that Dimry was covering Rice at all, what with Deion on the team that year (1990).
