Quick-kicks are freaking awesome. I someday want to see someone try a drop-kick field goal in the flow of play.

    Nah. Flutie's retired.

    Maybe Tebow, though.

Cunningham was actually a hell of a punter, if I remember correctly.

Yes and it wasn't such a bad thing when Roger Staubach was the starter. But when Staubach retired, the Cowboys would look for another punter every year and, more often than not, White was too good to beat out. He once said he wanted to lead the NFC in passing and punting.

I remember once seeing Terry Bradshaw have to go in as an emergency punter after Craig Colquitt got hurt. He didn't do that badly and, IIRC, they went ahead and stuck with him as the punter for the next game rather than signing another punter.

Rafael Septien once had to go in as the emergency punter in a Thanksgiving Day game. The results were comical.

That was with the wind at Giants Stadium. Went about 60 yards in the air, then hit the turf, bounced past the returner and rolled for another 30.

Didn't Flutie drop kick an extra point or something like that at the tail end of his career?

    That's why I mentioned him.

I thought it was always a dream but he never got to do it.

I must have seen that in 2005. Damn, he was 43 and still in the league.
