    That's racist.

  2. Don't tug on Superman's cape, don't spit into the wind... and if Mike Zimmer's on your staff, have the stones to finish the season.

Bob Avellini, celebrity bartender (have to believe someone saw this thread and said 'Ha! Avellini! Call him!'):

Great job for a guy charged with DUI four times (charges dropped three times):

Awesome, although I hope Zimmer doesn't get fined by the NFL for his devastating treatment of Petrino.

Props to YGBFKM for remembering Bob among the dozens of Bear QB failures.

And to whoever asked, I was always a Vince Evans guy as a kid. He was the Antwaan Randle El of his time.

Avellini, Evans and Phipps were the quarterbacks during the time I really became obsessed with the NFL, so my view of quarterbacking was forever destroyed by age 9.

Ah, too young to remember Bobby Douglass, the Michael Vick of his time. Without the dogs. I presume.

Same here. There's a reason we Chicago fans grew up rooting for guys like Doug Plank and Gary Fencik to make cheap shots plays instead of our hometown QBs.

The Colts suspend punter Pat McAfee for his drunken, late-night swim. As far as I know, the kid has no history of being in trouble. He wasn't driving. He didn't get into a fight. He was really only taken into custody for his own protection.

The Colts took a stand anyway, which is a good thing. This should be a lesson to the Jets, who only sat Braylon Edwards for a quarter when he got a DUI earlier this season. Only one problem. The Jets don't give a shit what their guys do off the field as long as it doesn't draw a suspension from the league.

Not to defend the Jets, but most, if not all, teams have different sets of rules for players such as punters vs. significant every-down players. If the Jets punter does this, he's made an example of; if a Colts regular does this, it's likely he isn't treated as harshly as McAfee.

I've passed out drunk in the same area McAfee did. I spent my 21st there. Passed out in the back seat of a car right by the canal.

For him to actually end up in the canal? Well, here's to you, Pat.

17th-string QB Todd Bouman likely to start for the Jaguars. That, coupled with three weeks between home games, should really generate demand for the Jags' return home Nov. 14.
