The Lions have made the cover of SI. Frogs and locusts are in the extended forecast.

Drunk Kenny Stabler was pretty awesome when doing color for Alabama radio. I have fond memories of listening to him warble through "Saleem Rasheed" during the fourth quarter.

The Monday Night game this week is legit.

Jets and Pats should be fun, and Philly/Buffalo might be epic.

If the Steelers win this week, a lot will be forgotten.

Very big if now that they lost the one guy on defense who was actually playing close to expectations.

You don't see a 41-38 shootout a real possibility? You don't see fascinating story lines all over this matchup?

Love Philly's offense. Word is they've been working hard to perfect the play where Ronnie Brown gets stacked up at the goal line and, with three defenders on him, flips the ball back to Vick for the walk-in TD.

The best thing about this week is Tony Romo can't lead the Cowboys to another last-minute loss.

Amazing how these teams that don't have the cap flexibility to sign anybody suddenly find it when the need becomes glaring enough. Steelers finally sign some legitimate help for the offensive line, bringing back Max Starks. If he does help, they are really going to regret waiting this long to do it.
