I actually covered a game at what was then known as Southwest Texas State where Spergon Wynn was the quarterback. Smart to drop the Southwest from the name, since San Marcos is south central, if anything. I digress...

    THURSDAY
    Miami at Jacksonville (-3)

    SUNDAY EARLY
    Washington at Cleveland (-7)
    Chicago at Atlanta (-3)
    L.A. Rams at Buffalo (-2)
    Tennessee (-2.5) at Minnesota
Las Vegas at New England (-6)
San Francisco (-4) at N.Y. Giants
    Cincinnati at Philadelphia (-5.5)
    Houston at Pittsburgh (-4)

    SUNDAY LATE
    N.Y. Jets at Indianapolis (-10.5)
    Carolina at L.A. Chargers (-6.5)
    Tampa Bay (-6) at Denver
    Detroit at Arizona (-5.5)
    Dallas at Seattle (-4.5)

    SUNDAY NIGHT
Green Bay at New Orleans (-3)

    MONDAY NIGHT
    Kansas City at Baltimore (-3.5)

I have to work a tournament Sunday so I'm glad there are some nice options for the two night games. Tampa giving six at Denver seems a bit much.

Nice to see the Jets on the bad side of the only double-digit line on the board.

I feel like the NFL and Fox are trolling St. Louis, for some reason.

Raiders on a short week flying for a 10am kick to Foxboro. I like the Pats.

Yeah, West Coast teams traveling three time zones for an early game tend not to do well.

Historically, I would agree, but the west coast teams are 4-0 outright this year in 1pm ET starts: Seahawks and Raiders in week 1, Rams and 49ers in week 2.

The Seahawks are 17-6 in 10:00 AM games going back to 2013. 5-0 last year.

It’s tough to climb out of an 0-3 hole.

    Texans...
    Eagles...
    Vikings...
    Falcons...

    Texans probably facing toughest test.

Money has been pouring in on the Texans, from +6 to +4. They are a "good" 0-2, given that it was KC and Balt. Bad news is their coach is still Bill O'Brien.

The Texans played arguably the two best teams in the league. The Steelers have been shaky against two weak opponents. I can see why Houston is a popular bet.

Watson gives Houston the chance to win any game, but the rest of that team is not of playoff caliber. He could well come up big Sunday, but I wouldn't bet the Texans.
