You're forgetting the most important question, because the line, and running game were not THAT great that year.

Is the NFC as weak as it was 2 years ago?

The line and running game were very good that year, Guy. You don't know what you're talking about. This year, I doubt the Bears will win any playoff games, but they can certainly earn a wild card.

I didn't say they weren't very good, but very good usually won't win the conference with a crappy passing game. The NFC was down that year.

I know it is very early in the season, but I'm not completely sold on the Bears chances to qualify for the playoffs.

Barring the unforeseen, Dallas and Green Bay are going to be in the playoffs. Then the, er, winners of the South and West are going to take seeds three and four. Are the Bears going to beat out Philly or the Giants or the Saints for one of the remaining two spots?

The Cowboys and Giants are locks, but I don't see the South or West getting more than one playoff team. Therefore, the Bears have a shot at getting a wild card. I thought the Vikings were gonna be better and the Bears much worse, so even if the Eagles get in, which they probably will, that still leaves a spot for them if the defense stays healthy and Orton doesn't completely fall apart.

Mike Brown will get hurt soon. T-Harris' knee seems wobbly. Forte can't keep things up...

Sure would be nice to have Chris Harris around. Shoot I'd settle for Mike Green.

McGowan's out for the season, too.

That was kind of what I was getting at. Every time the Bears think they are "deep" at a position ---- and especially when they talk about it in the immediate aftermath of losing someone to free agency ---- they sustain a serious injury at that position.

I will say this: Dvorcek and Harrison both look very, very good. I feel pretty solid about our DTs and DEs. Alex Brown is playing very well. Maybe off to the best start of his career, or at least the last few seasons.

    Pallister just hit the wall
    He never had it all
    Writes one poem a day
    Wishes he'd become a CPA
His dreams went out the door

    Only been on one board
    What happened to his plan?

    Looks at his average life

He's seen all the playoff games
He knows everyone on the d-line
    Richard Dent, Steve McMichael
    Even Mike Singletary

    He rocked out to 46-10
Not a big Miami Dolphins fan
Thought the Bears would get a hand

Where's the deep dish pizza topped with extra cheese?
And why does XM carry a countdown hosted by Rick Dees?
When did Ditka start talking on TV?
What ever happened to the goal-line stands by the Bears' awesome D?
