As long as the ball in question remains oddly-shaped, and turnovers can translate into 14-point swings in a heartbeat, this is the way it's going to be.

wow. i saw saints opened at 10 and moved to 10 1/2. thought it would be 9 or 10. buddy, who is a seahawks fan, said it would be 5 or 6. i don't want to say told you now, rather wait until saints win by 21.

I tend to think the hocus pocus of the lines has more to do with the way they shift to even out the exposure of the bookie/casino. You want a fairly even ledger which means if you are doing it right - half of your clientele will be pissed off.
It's like the NCAA tournament. We remember the upsets, even when 90 percent of the time the higher seed wins.

I would expect that line to drop some now that Chris Ivory and Pierre Thomas have both been shelved for the rest of the season with injuries. Saints are going with Reggie Bush and Julius Jones as the only RBs they can count on.

And, frankly, this game worries me as a Saints fan. The injuries are starting to mount again, they're on the road in one of the tougher places to play and it's always harder to beat a team a second time in a season.

I still expect a Saints' win, but if I was a betting man (I'm not, thank goodness), taking Seattle and a 10-point spread might be attractive.

that sucks. thought they would have Thomas and maybe Ivory. still with Bush and Jones they do have Brees and a good def. can't see the Seahawks scoring more than 17. i'll say Saints 28-10.

If the New Orleans bandwagon loses, I expect them to get buried by the national media, for once.

If they fall, /they're/ the joke.

I heard somewhere that the Seahawks hadn't lost a game by less than 15 all season. Looked it up and it's true. If you think the Hawks lose, you better get more than 10.

The ideal, of course, is to set a line which will induce the vast majority to go the wrong way.
