Odd schedule, in that most games are on Saturday because Sunday is Christmas. The week's top games:

N.Y. Giants (7-7) at N.Y. Jets (8-6) — Giants always seem to play well against good teams.

Arizona (7-7) at Cincinnati (8-6) — Bengals could still grab the 6-seed if the Jets lose.

San Diego (7-7) at Detroit (9-5) — Lions need a win to clinch a playoff spot.

Philadelphia (6-8) at Dallas (8-6) — Amazingly, Eagles could still back their way into the NFC East title.

San Francisco (11-3) at Seattle (7-7) — Suddenly looking like a massive trap game for the Niners.

Atlanta (9-5) at New Orleans (11-3) — Saints are on a roll, while Falcons have been beating up on bad teams.

That San Diego game is intriguing now with the way the Chargers are playing. It's tough to bet against the Chargers in December.

Neither are the Giants, as evidenced by their bed-shitting against the fighting Rexys on Sunday.

How would Philly be backing into the playoffs?

The NY-NY game is the one where everything should be on the line, but likely isn't - the loser still has a pretty good chance to make the playoffs.

The Giants are toast if they lose and Dallas wins.

Giants are probably toast, period, if they lose. If Philly beats Dallas and Jets beat Giants, Eagles would win the division with Week 17 win at Washington and Giants win over Cowboys. I guess Washington could beat Philly, though.

Looking at the playoff standings, the potential of a New Orleans-Detroit first-round game is very, very exciting.
I'm hoping the Giants lose to the Jets this week because I'd love to see Philly have a chance to make the playoffs in Week 17.

If the Eagles win out, the Jets beat the Giants and the Giants beat the Cowboys, Philly's in.

If Philly sneaks in, the Eagles might be the scariest 8-8 playoff team ever.

The Saints beat the Lions by two touchdowns (and it wasn't that close) three weeks ago.

Well, they don't have a whole lot of competition in that regard.
