    That is a lynchpin game.

Raiders are no pushover right now, looking ahead to the Ravens matchup. Four quality wins, three in the past five weeks.

Raiders already have that, 1-0 to the Browns' 1-1. :)

OK, here is the ultimate AFC scenario:

Ravens lose to Pitt and Oakland = 8-8
Broncos lose to Philly and KC = 8-8
Steelers beat Ravens, lose to Miami = 8-8
Dolphins lose to Houston, beat Pitt = 8=8
Texans beat Miami, lose to NE = 8-8
Jaguars lose to NE, beat Cleveland = 8-8
Jets lose to Indy, beat Cincy = 8-8
Titans lose to San Dego, beat Seattle = 8-8

Somewhere in the afterlife, Pete Rozelle seeks immediate medical attention for erection lasting more than four hours.

Anybody care to figure out the tie-breakers for this?

Will the Browns throw for 100 yards? Finally?

I don't see the tie-breaker that says if eight mediocre to piece of shit teams tie for the two wild card spots, all are eight eliminated for sucking and the four division champs all get byes to the conference semifinals.

That's the tiebreaker in the SFL (Starman Football League).

Actually, I think the first tiebreaker is head-to-head among all the teams that are tied.

Clarification: I read the procedure again, and head-to-head appears to only apply if one team sweeps the others in the tie. Since there could be as many as eight teams at 8-8, the more teams in the tie, the less likely this applies. So the next tiebreaker becomes conference record. After that is record against common opponents.

Away from two annoying subjects (tiebreakers and Steelers) to a third one: Brett Fav-ruh.

The Vikings are looking more and more like an early-round washout. Favre's late-season decline and fit-pitching (again?) have something to do with it, although that doesn't explain why Carolina's backup offensive linemen were moving aside Minnesota's supposed best-in-the-league defensive line. Does E.J. Henderson being out make that much difference to the defense?

Of course, you can't ignore the Childress factor, either.

Strangely, the game at Soldier Field against the Bears Sunday might be a gutcheck. The Bears are folding, but if the Vikes struggle, that could cement their status as a likely early out. Then the Vikes host the Giants for the final game. Uh-oh.

    I'll settle for net touchdowns.
