Has an NFL team ever gained 1,000 yards in an afternoon? Has an NFL team ever posted a net yardage loss for an entire afternoon? The answers to these questions and more, right now on CBS!

I think it was Bill Simmons (I know, I know) who made a good point one time about broadcasters: whenever something comes up in a game, like the Jets coming out with that option set, the announcers always say that the coach told them that they'd run something like that. The question then, is why don't they ever say these things before it happens? If they really do have all of this knowlege beforehand, why wait until after it happens to talk about it?

Brad Smith. Second year player from Mizzou, where he was an option QB. He's a WR/third-string QB on the Jets.

If you're going for it on fourth-and-two and going to pass, Pennington has to be the QB. There's no logical reason for Smith to be at QB. None.

Chad Montana is going to lead them to victory. They're going to partly like it's 2006 again.

The NFL's version of the Crusades, on CBS.

    Minus death and dismemberment.

Might be time for Mangini to call Namath, Ken O'Brien, Pat Ryan, Bubby Brister, Neil O'Donnell, Boomer, Glen Foley and see if they can get up to Foxborough.

Mangini's on the phone right now to the AD at Don Bosco Prep to see if he can fly the kids up there to play the second half.

Nah. It'll just be the usual mutual loathing, wet fish handshake.
