Its funny, because on this running weekly Steelers thread we've had here for years, Tomlin has been considered by the 'experts' as a subpar coach.
The way I see it, Tomlin got All-Pro performances out of AB and Ball. When those doofuses played for anyone else, they are complete zeros.

What the hell happened to Louis Riddick? He used to be fantastic on his ESPN spots. Now they have jackass Ryan Clark filling his spots.

I might take both of your opinions more seriously if you knew that the guy's name was Bell, not Ball. :)

Maybe Tomlin did a great job coaxing performances out of them. Or maybe he enabled them for years, allowing their issues to get worse to the point that they could no longer be productive members of the team. He absolutely enabled Brown. He let him get away with way too much crap, so Brown just kept pushing the boundaries even further. The other coaches who had to try to work with them go them after Tomlin enabled their crap for years. In the case of Bell, it was also after he sat out an entire season and got stuck in an offense that was a mess most of the season. We never got to see what would have happened with Brown in New England due to the off-field allegations.

Tomlin's teams are often undisciplined. They have a bad habit of slow starts to seasons and games, especially against weaker opposition. I'm not saying he isn't a good coach, but he lost that team in 2018. Through all the adversity, he seems to have regained some control in 2019. He certainly deserves credit for doing a fantastic job with the current team.

Bell has drifted so far out of relevancy, I thought he morphed into Lonzo Ball!

That, or guys who have the potential to be problems are more likely to develop into a full-blown head case after playing for Tomlin. :)

That's brilliant Monday morning quarterbacking. Whose your team again? Are you entitled to any opinion about them? Or does that opinion make you an annoying "expert"?

Brown would be an All-Pro if he was able to take the field. No matter the team, he's that good. Bell didn't realize how good he had it running behind one of the best offensive lines in football. You listen to Francesa and many Jets fans and they blow a gasket because he doesn't hit the hole like a traditional back. Doesn't help that he's running behind a mediocre line. Still, Gase and the Jets have no idea how to use him, which is insane.

Dudes here bitch about the Steelers every single week - win, lose or draw.

My team is the Rams. They are rarely discussed here on the running Steelers board.

Sorry no one gives a flying fuck about your team. Win more, get more fans. It's just math.

BTW, I went to the Steelers-Rams game in Pitt last month. Was impressed by the number of LA fans. Was the 40th anniversary of Super Bowl 14.

Ya wanna discuss how your team is doomed for the foreseeable future bc they don't have a first-round pick for the next five years, overinvested in Goff and Hurley, leaving little money to shore up other areas of need?

Still, they could be a sneaky team to go deep in playoffs, which is odd to say since they went to the SB last year. That's how much the expectations have dropped, though. Until lately anyway. They're coming on.

If you want to discuss the Rams on the running threads, then do that rather than whining about what others choose to discuss.

Tomlin and Reid ought to Co-Coach. Reid can handle September and October. Tomlin can handle November and December

And the corpse of Chuck Noll to handle January.
