Even so, if you're getting fired in five weeks, why bother obeying the GM?

    Kind of cool.

Maybe he'd like another GM to hire him someday.

Well, that's a bad start for the Lions...

I'm thankful the Bears played one good quarter today.

Never mind. I was worried for a minute the Bears were about to start their traditional draft-ruining run at .500.

So is this the first time no AFC team is playing on Thanksgiving? Weird (but kind of old school) seeing two NFC teams playing on CBS.

This is not the worst Bears team I've seen, but it is by far the softest. The Bears trotted out a generally awful product for about two decades before their heyday in the mid-'80s, but at least those teams tried. The saying used to be, "If you can't beat 'em, beat 'em up." This team, though, what an embarrassment to its city and fans.

Now we come to a local issue. The Fox affiliate here is owned by Cox, which is having a pissing match in negotiations with Verizon. I have FiOS, and the Fox affiliate was yanked from FiOS today. No Eagles-Cowboys on cable. Thank goodness we have a small digital over-the-air set in the kitchen.
