Here’s the problem with Matt Patricia
Good coaches take their philosophy and shape it to their personnel
Bad coaches take their personnel and shape them to their philosophy

It's remarkable how Belichick's former assistants have been so consistently unable to imitate his most outstanding traits, versatility of thought and flexibility of approach.

I think Patricia might be the worst of the Belichick disciples. That team never looks ready to play.

And it’s the defense that’s so awful
Except for Slay, all of them are Quinn/Patricia guys

Let's not forget Charlie Weis, although he really was a Parcells guy. The Buffalo-Dallas game indicates there will be yet another interview for Josh McDaniels soon.

Seems like there are fewer shots of the Dallas owners box than usual today. Wouldn't be surprised if CBS got a phone call.

The worst head coach I've seen in my life was Ray Handley.
I watch a lot of Lions games and Patricia is pretty close to that.
The thing about the Fords is they've tried all approaches.
They've brought in the hardass like Bobby Ross, the hip young coordinators (Mornhinweg and Patricia), the established winning coach (Mariucci), the former pro scout (Schwartz), the quiet good guy (Caldwell). None of it's worked.

Wayne Fontes is the winningest and losingest coach in Lions history
    That says it all

Cowboys have to be the most overrated franchise in American sports.
It brings me great joy that Baltimore, which the NFL intentionally bypassed in expansion to protect the Washington Bigots, has two more Super Bowls than the Bigots and the Jerry Jones this century.

    Jason Garrett is Mike McCarthy.
A guy who thinks he's going to be a head coach for other NFL teams.
Maybe as quarterbacks coach or coordinator but not as the head man.

I knew the Giants would be in trouble right away when they hired Handley. There was so much talk of him being a kinder, gentler player’s coach compared to Parcells, which I took as him being a softie. I was right.

I’ve also wondered why Jim Fassel never got another shot as a head coach. He did lead the Giants to the one Super Bowl, even though they got killed.
