NFL Week 11 Thread: Hines Ward crack-back block edition

If Garret plays another game this season, they ought to go full Rollerball, no rules.

 

Damn. One time I turn a Steelers game off before the final gun and I miss some serious shit.

I literally turned it off one second before the cameras turned to the fight on television. Pouncey is going to get a suspension, too. He kicked Garrett while he was on the ground. Sure, he had good reason to stand up for his quarterback, but that has to be a suspension.

Garrett should be done for the season. Ripping a helmet off like that is dangerous, as is swinging it at the player who was no longer wearing it.

 

So how ugly was that?

In the last 40 years, has there been an uglier display at an NFL game?

 

Nobody wanna talk about Mason Rudolph instigating the whole thing trying to rip Garrett’s helmet off?
Garrett gets four, Pouncey should get two, give Rudolph one as well.

 

Late hit? Maybe. It wasn't egregious. I'm not sure they even threw a flag on that part of it.

Rudolph started going after Garrett while he was on the ground. He tried to pull off Garrett's helmet, took a couple of swipes at him and kicked him in the balls as Garrett stood up (while grasping Rudolph's facemask). Garrett absolutely is trash for hitting him with his helmet. Definitely shouldn't see the field again this year. But don't pretend Rudolph was an innocent bystander in the matter.

 

Haynesworth's head stomp?

 

Bullshit. He got hit late and then pinned to the ground. You really going to try to mitigate what Garrett did?

 

There needs to be massive suspensions from this. Kicking a dude while he's down. Smashing a QB in the head with his own helmet. Leaving the bench. League needs to put the kibosh on this harshly so next time doesn't go all MLB retribution.

 

It was a late hit and then he throws Rudolph down after the late hit. Don’t blame Rudolph for Garrett going psycho-insane.

Garrett was underneath Rudolph. How did he "throw Rudolph down?" He pulled him to the ground, and not particularly hard.

You're blind if you don't see that Rudolph took exception to the hit, tried to pull off Garrett's helmet, swung fists at him and kicked him. It doesn't mitigate what Garrett did. Both things can be true and one can be worse than the other, but acting like Rudolph was some innocent bystander is ludicrous.
