Because he didn't show up in the minicamps (and was fined $70,000 plus had $75,000 deducted from his base salary) but he likely would have reported for camp to keep from having to pay the fines even though it was obvious he didn't want to be there. The Cowboys felt they couldn't count on him. So it was either cut him and eat the bonus money or pay him to take up a valuable roster spot with the knowledge that if you put him in, you wouldn't get what you were paying for anyway -- plus the aforementioned morale/chemistry issue.

Meteorologist takes Belichick to task. Pretty funny.

Brown-Bengals. Weird game in that suddenly it's a really big deal in Ohio and no one else in the entire country gives a shit about the outcome.

Every single team in the AFC North has a winning record. The Bengals lead the division. The Browns are 5-3, with a slim chance to lead the division by the end of the weekend's games (the Steelers would have to shit themselves against a bad team again and lose to the Jets, but that is certainly possible.)

Throw in that it is a division game and it is arguably the best contest of the week.

It's the first time since 1989 both teams have met with winning records this late into a season.

So, it is the first time ever for these two franchises (Screw the NFL and its bullshit deal. The old Browns are in Baltimore now.)

    Essentially, yes.
It's odd they were only overlappingly good that short slice of time in the late 80s.

Obligatory Sam Wyche reminder to Bengals fans about where they live.

Lot of mediocre teams. Pittsburgh lost to Tampa Bay. Cleveland lost to Jacksonville.

Check out the hat (and matching sweater) on the guy at Wyche's left elbow.
