A lot of times doctors advise a wait-and-see approach to see if surgery can be avoided once the player is resting and the inflammation has a chance to die down. In Manning's case I would imagine that the risks involved in neck surgery would have had the doctors trying to avoid it if at all feasible. So the delay does not seem too out of whack here.

Actually, that is another reason, though pressure from the pass rush has been a big part of forcing Flacco into those errors. Those aren't all interceptions. He has fumbled while getting sacked a few times in there, too.

  4. His pick to Polamalu was thrown right as he was broken in half by a rushing linebacker. But either way, his next good game against the Steelers defense will be his first.

Well, to be blunt . . . in the NBA, who gives a flying rat's ass about the first two months of the regular season?

    I mean, really.

Todd Haley should be headbutted repeatedly. The entire preseason, the first three games at least, was all about keeping guys healthy and making sure the guys get minimal touches, more rest, yada yada.

That was until Preseason Game 4, when Haley opened the flood gates. Tony Moeaki hurt his knee in the second quarter, out for the reason. Matt Cassel has a rib injury, and will be limited if he even plays.

Hell of a fucking sacrifice to lose 20-19 in the most meaningless fucking game of the 20 every NFL team is guaranteed to play.

I want to say that what the Jags did seems about as bush league as it gets. Their division might be the worst in football this season, so might as well fuck up any chance at the post season

Interesting to say Falcons over Chargers...also I don't think his wins and losses add up for the season...
