NFL to allow Nolan to wear suit on sideline

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by tommyp, Nov 16, 2006.

  1. Will Nolan wear something from the Dan Reeves collection. I think he was the last coach to wear a suit on the sidelines. And where's the Men's Warehouse house ad on this page?

Thanks to the rules and Uni Watch, I notice stuff like that too. But I've always been enamored with uniforms for some reason. Couldn't tell you why.

I love the idea of Nolan finally getting his wish to wear a suit like his old man did back in the day. I always wanted to see more coaches do this besides JoePa, the Grambling coach, and my former college football coach.

Nolan actually wanted to wear one when he got the job, but whoever it was (Nike, Adidas, etc.) told him no way, he had to wear the team gear with their logos. The NFL half-heartedly backed them, but really didn't have a say in the whole thing.

Talk about socialism with the NFL. What is Nike? Mother Russia?

Heh heh heh, Earle's fedora. That never gets old.

While they're at it, get rid of the headsets and go back to the old-style phones on the sidelines.

The NFL is out-of-control with its iron-fisted sartorial rules. But if that's the case, Belichick needs to be fined for violating even the most-liberal of fashion standards. He needs a personal dress code.

I used to think that until I saw baseball players wearing pants over their shoetops, sweat-stained caps and crud-crusted helmets.

This has gotten ridiculous. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing the NFL should dole out fines for re: sideline attire is Zubaz pants.
