NFL rule changes

Also fairly curious how leg hits aren't a point of emphasis until someone like Brady goes down. Actually, it's not curious at all.

This rule is beyond fucking stupid. And if the NFL really wanted to be proactive about this, why not require all qb's to wear those ACL braces on their plant legs? Like Mark Sanchez did at USC?

Instead, quarterbacks have more no-touch zones than first dates.

Mike Ditka laughs at today's "football."

Roughing has been horribly enforced for over 25 years. If it's not Brady getting hurt and giving way to a guy nobody ever heard of, it was Bernie Kosar or Randall Cunningham getting mangled and turning over his position to Mike Pagel or Pat Ryan. The league made it just fine without Tom Brady. What was most odious about this week was pig-swilling Goodell standing on a podium and pretending that he and his organization have genuine concern about the Black Death of an economy and how it's affecting their customers.

    Tremendous.

I think it's going to be tough to evenly enforce the new quarterback rule. Beyond that, it's football. Contact sport. Sometimes players get hurt when 350-pound dudes fly into each other.

Agree with what everyone else has said about the absurdity of this "Tom Brady Rule" and would like to add this: Why the fuck didn't they change the rules when Brady brought our attention to the crock that is the tuck rule?

Because the NFL didn't mind seeing Al Davis getting screwed over.

The Tom Brady rule is bogus.

But no mention of the Chargers-Ed Hochuli whistle-fumble-no fumble play? Seems to me that if replay shows a ball to be fumbled that should be able to overrule a bad whistle

Gotta love the NFL. It's OK to drvie drunk and kill someone, but please don't hurt the quarterback.

But killing a quarterback while driving drunk gets you 15 years, minimum...
