    * The Super Bowl pregame coverage will be 43% about Brady's return, 43% about the return of New Orleans as a city and 14% about the game itself.

The 49ers are too young, the Rams too old, the Seahawks too bland.

49ers will win that division. They might go 8-8, but they'll win it.

I think they were a game back at one point late last year, but the Cards had already clinched the division (in like week 6).

    Prediction:
All 12 playoff teams with have 8-8 or 9-7 records, proving that this is the perfect league because salary cap= parity.

    Predictions:

    * The NFL will play 12 boring games a week. Ratings will be through the roof anyway.
    * Everyone will bitch about Brett Favre all year long, but line up to watch his games.
    * Teams will strive to win nine or 10 games just so they can sneak into the playoffs and make the Super Bowl.
    * There will be lots and lots and lots and lots of punts on fourth-and-1 from just inside the 40-yard line of the opponent.
    * Monday Night Football games will continue to last too long. Our nation's youth will survive.
    * There will be five meaningful games played over the last month of the season.

Yeah, the Cardinals and Chargers are the two easiest picks by far. I could see the Cardinals blowing it though and maybe Seattle sneaking in with a 8-8 record, but that division is going to be awful.

I don't see any possibility of the Chargers not winning the AFC West. The other three teams will spend the entire season battling it out for Sam Bradford. If any of them win more than six games I'd be surprised.

Seattle's going to have a big year.

Arizona has to tangle with a first-place schedule . . . for once.

The days of a true "first-place" schedule went away when the current scheduling format went into place.

A first-place schedule means they get two games determined by the previous year's placement. The Cardinals are at the Giants and home vs. the Panthers, while the Seahawks play at Dallas and home vs. Tampa Bay ... otherwise, the rest of their opponents are the same.
