Not the point of the appeal. The two players who have been punished were made examples of retroactively and without, in Pacman's case, a conviction. Others have been charged with felonies since Pacman came into the league for DUI, assault and others. Yet, Pacman is the one who got a year-long suspension. They are arguing it is excessive, and they have a good case.

He's been arrested five times in 25 months. It isn't excessive.

And convicted how many times? Others have been found guilty, and their punishment has been......

While I'm not saying he shouldn't have been suspended, if the league was serious about this, other suspensions should have come down for players other than Pacman and Henry. And yet, none have been forthcoming. And as long as that stays the case, it looks more and more like a PR stunt by the NFL to look like it's doing something.

If Team will not take appropriate action as a conscientious employer and dismiss the player -- which it's not certain the Titans were willing to do -- then League must step in. Several players who showed up in the blotter as often as Pacman were quietly released (Patrick Bates, Charles Jordan, Wayne Simmons, Tony Martin, etc.)

Pacman fucked himself. What happened to that gibberish in the paper about going back to school? No, he's lawyering up -- the American way.
