It says some of the cuts are coming from the NFL Network as well.

He's always struck me as one of those grumpy, bitter, stuck-in-the-past old-timers.

Still don't know where the league would be without NFL Films, and yet neither Sabol is in the Hall of Fame? Freaking joke.

The Sabols are as important as any person, player or commissioner, who has ever been employed by the NFL. And America's Game is as fine a work as NFL Films has ever done.

What the NFL is telling the HR department regarding 150 job cuts:

"You can get it done. You can get it done. What's more, you gotta get it done..."

Real Sports had a nice story on the Sabols a few years back, if memory serves me.

Here's Dr. Z a few years back predicting this turn of events. It's funny now, because the NFL Network is foundering, but the league honchos thought they could do better than the Sabols, and were phasing them out.

Here's an SI vault story from the 60s about Ed Sabol.

How true. Yet the sports world would rather debate above-average running backs and Kurt Warner ad nauseum for the Hall.

Without NFL Films, baseball might still be No. 1 in this country. Or basketball. Or who knows what. One just can't underestimate the role of NFL Films.

Comapare the content of MLBTV against the NFL Network, and you will see the value of NFL Films.

So, if the NFL got rid of the Sabols' company, would they still be allowed to call their company, "NFL Films?" or does the league have it trademarked?
