I'm already sick of the "Brady Quinn can't win the big game" and "Oh, he didn't have talent around him" arguments.

    And?

He didn't win the big games.
Calvin Johnson and the Wisconsin tackle are the two can't miss.

No such thing as a can't-miss. The draft proves that over and over. But Johnson looks to be the real deal. Thomas, maybe. Robert Gallery was a can't-miss, too.

I'm already sick of the more overhyped draft in pro sports and the endless hours that ESPN has devoted to it for weeks. Thank god that on Monday, we'll have only three weeks of post-draft analysis. :(

some people are comparing the two, if that tells you anything. and quinn didn't win the big game, he was Ok against the top competition and russell was vaulted because he torched ND's defense, which the top high school qbs could have done.

Russell was only vaulted by the Sugar Bowl in the minds of fans and media who had little real perspective on his skills. The league already knew how good he was/is. That game did little to change his stock with the people who matter, except to solidify their ability to sell him to the fan base.

His Pro Day workout at LSU last month did more for him than the Sugar Bowl did.

Some caller on the radio said that Eric Angel was going to be a better QB in the NFL than Russell. That sounds ridiculous. Anybody with some SEC knowledge give me a read on that one?

It's late. Who is Eric Angel?

    Oh, Eric Ainge?

Well, if Ainge gets to hold a clipboard in the NFL and Russell immolates himself – and there's a 50-50 chance of that happening – then Some Caller might be right.

Mitch Mustain will be better than all of them.
