Sorry LJB, no priests at Bergen Catholic. It's run by Christian Brothers.
Also the alma mater of Mark DeRosa and Charlie Casserly, among others.

AP will not rescind Merriman's award because Merriman has never won the AP Defensive Player of the Year Award. Jason Taylor won it in 2006, the year Merriman was suspended.

    Nice try, though, spnited.

My mistake on Merriman... defensive ROY in 2005, suspended for roids in 2006

I think you are spot on with your assessment.

These guys have access to the best of everything and the rewards on taking PED far exceed the risk.

I also do not think it is strictly football. I know at least 2 former NHL players who were doing PED back in the 80s/90s. These things work and given the nature of pro athletes, they will do almost anything to succeed.

I sure hope the guy who gets the award after the revote isn't a roider!

Oh, he kept his award in the revote. So football writers are OK with steroid cheats.

He was tested throughout the year and did not fail any additional tests. In theory, he played clean.

Has baseball revoked any award from a doper?

Given the number of NFL players on roids or HGH or some kind of PED, you'd never have a season if they actually enforced their feeble drug policy.

Odds are any hypothetical new winner would be a PED cheat as well.

Good grief, that is ridiculous. Fox needs to drop Glazer.
