    I'm really starting to believe that the vogue thing to do now is lay people off. Damn.

    I completely agree.

    I believe some companies are laying off 10 or 15 percent because they can blame the economy and get away with it.

    Can't all these business geniuses get it through their heads that their "labor costs" are the next businessman's customers? And his "labor costs" are the first slob's customers? And so on?

    They want to pay Third World wages, often literally, and sell at top-dollar U.S. prices. They also want to take home 500x what a front-line worker earns, until they golden-parachute out.

    How's this working out for all of us?
