I have a real problem with this mentality:

Trolling isn't a crime. Chen doesn't seem to understand how the Internet works.

I am not sure what your complaint is. You don't think it's right to spotlight Brutsch? He's some kind of private citizen?

Would you be fine with a blog dissecting your 11,000 posts on this site, looking for the worst things you've said and done, then highlighting them and attaching your real-life name to them in a story that has 70,000 views in two and a half hours?

When you join a community such as Reddit, or SportsJournalists.com, you expect anonymity. You also expect there will be trolls. The trolls get anonymity, too. Many of us know Doodah's real name, but you've never seen it posted here even as he tried his darnedest to make this place awful in three-day spurts for months.

 

I think we can agree that there was no shortage of creepiness on either side of that story.
