Angola mentioned this, but I thought of it as well last week...we're running out of whipping boys who can't win the big one. The Red Sox won in 2004, Roy Williams won with UNC in 2005, the White Sox won in 2005, Bill Cowher won in 2005-06 (hi Angola!), Tony LaRussa won in 2006. Now Peyton Manning and Tony Dungy have won, proving I was the fraud all this time.

It seems all we've got left is A-Rod and the Cubs. C'mon, A-Rod, what fun is sports if you're not finding ways to choke in October? :D

But I came up with 10 other long-suffering people/franchises/collegiate teams. Who among this list will be the first to shed the proverbial monkey?

Hint: I'm not voting for A-Fraud.

You can't even be IN this discussion unless you have something like a reasonable chance to win a championship.

That lets out almost everybody on the list. It'll be a miracle if the Detroit Lions go .500 within 5 years of whenever it is Matt Millen is terminated from the franchise.

Unless Tomlinson blows a knee, the Chargers should have a shot.

    C'mon, let's be realistic here. :D

Shottie, golf doesn't count. Nor does auto racing.

Starman: Your five year rule is precisely my point: We're running out of chokers/frauds!! So I had to list some long shot candidates. You'll notice there's no Arizona Cardinals listed. They're the Herm Edwards of franchises.

However, since I like Montezuma, I added Herm the Fraud.

Hmmm, I see the Arizona Cardinals on your list.

Do you have any clue what the fuck you're doing, dickhead?

It's hockey. Nobody gives a fuck.

And your beloved NY Rangers have won exactly one in the past 1,000 years. (OK, 67 years)
