Newspapers faulted for sports hirings

    Big Chee, I'm not saying that those incidents are more important than the overall numbers. But yes, there were posts on this thread suggesting that "every white male who has ever thought he was passed over due to gender or race is deluding himself." There aren't as many as we usually have on this topic, but they were there.

    The issue isn't my primary focus, but as I said, it is part of the discussion, especially because one thing that the numbers show is that minority-driven hiring just doesn't fix the problem. Good people occasionally lose out on jobs that go to unqualified or at least clearly less-qualified candidates who allow newspapers to fill a quota and it really doesn't help.
