Via Romenesko, I just read the New York Post story about the top editors of Newday being MIA the last couple of days last week, and people wondering if they have been axed.

Any sightings today of the MEs?

They're traveling around the country on "hiatus" with Stephon Marbury, I thought, raking in that Dolan cash.

Surely we have somebody inside there.

Maybe the top editors are hanging out with Shaun Powell and Johnette Howard.

You could say there is some karma at work here, except that the idea to fire the columnists probably came from far above Mancini and Co.

So what are the odds that the Dolans fired the editors in retaliation for the coverage of the Isiah Thomas sexual harassment suit, as the Post suggested in its Sunday story?

Edit: Never mind. Apparently they're back at work ... for the moment, anyway.

Debby Krenek is cool and paid her dues in Corpus Christi, Dallas and NYC on the desk. I don't know the other two.

Well, if that report is right, it's your worst nightmare as someone on the editorial side. How would you like to have the Knicks beat there?!

Lil' Jimmy Dolan is bullying editors who refuse to turn Newsday into Cablevision propaganda?

Bear shits in woods. Film at 11.
