Position is open because Brandon Mattingly, the current news-sports reporter, was promoted to news editor.

You're a one-man shop covering one school (Washington County High School's Commanders and Commanderettes). Not sure if the Sun covers the middle school.

You're about an hour away from Lexington and less than 30 minutes away from Bardstown, which was recently named the Most Beautiful Small Town in America.

You're an LCNI shop in an area with many LCNI sister publications (Elizabethtown daily, Lebanon weekly, Bardstown 3-times a week, Campbellsville weekly, Hodgenville weekly), so you can get photo/writing help.

Being in E'town, I'm scheduled to cover Washington County football at least twice this season (once when it plays Elizabethtown High, once when it plays LaRue County High in Hodgenville).
