This is a full-time gig with benefits, vacation and mileage money for a daily that comes out six times per week. If I had to guess, the job is 75 percent news/25 percent sports. You'll also have a chance to write sports features and regularly cover Steelers training camp if you so desire. The only caveat is that they are looking for someone currently living in western Pennsylvania (or at least in that general area).

The position with the Latrobe Bulletin involves covering local and county meetings, police beat, writing features, covering sports, rewriting news releases, etc. Applicants must be knowledgeable about western Pennsylvania and have some writing experience. Pagination/QuarkXpress experience and some photography is a big plus.

Contact Latrobe Bulletin Editor Steve Kittey at lb.editor@verizon.net or mail resume to 1211 Ligonier St., Box 111, Latrobe, PA 15650.

Just wanted to see if it would be ok for someone to apply even if they don't live in Pennsylvania?

Someone living in the state/region is preferred.

In my experience, that's usually code for "we don't pay enough so you can live here on your own."

More likely it's "We won't spring for interview or moving expenses."
