    From Journalism Jobs:

The Vindicator in Youngstown, OH, seeks applicants with a couple years in the field for our 60K Sunday/daily. The ideal candidates will be well-versed in current digital reporting trends and tools. But you must also demo the time-tested skills of storytelling, sourcing and news instincts.
Like our industry, we are a company in tremendous transition and fighting some tough economic circumstances. No whiners, please; just winners. If you're this person, please consider us. Email a resume, 10- 12 clips and 4 professional references to Editor Todd Franko at tfranko@vindy.com. (No phone calls, please.)

Translation: Don't expect us to pay you very much. However, we still expect you to work for less with a smile on your face.

Ten to 12 clips seems like a lot, no?

Sure does. Maybe it's to cull out super-entry level kids who only have like five freelance clips?

I must say, The Vindicator is a hell of a name for a paper.

It's the same paper that used scabs from other Newhouse papers when employees went on strike.

Youngstown is a, um, "tough" town. That's the code word for places like that, yes?

You can get some quality Italian food there.

Plus, you'd be working for Todd Franko. Yet another minus.
