Geez. The one place even more isolated than Casper.

Congrats to the Grand Junction Rockies on having the worst stadium in the Pioneer League.

Some enterprising young right-handed hitter is going to hit about 75 home runs over that left-field fence.

People need something to do there between the NJCAA World Series each year. But I don't think GJ is that bad if you enjoy the western slope (especially in the winter). Also has pretty quick access to Moab, which is hard to beat.

Close to 30k would probably be about right.

Yeah, I think Casper is more isolated. Lots of outdoors stuff to do in GJ.

And I take it back. The Ghosts are alive. Team will be called the Ghosts next season and possibly in 2013.

You sure? Pioneer League website is calling them the Rockies.

(This is a hell of a threadjack, btw. I take partial responsibility for that.)

Hey, Casper still has the national college rodeo finals. The paper turns it into a really big deal.

Yeah, you're right. I read it wrong in the dead-tree version. It would be dumb to take the nickname to Junction.

The Utah Jazz and the LA Lakers don't know what the hell you're talking about.
