Newport News paper suffers more layoffs?

    Several people let me know Squires was among those laid off - still not sure of the racial makeup of the newsroom

    I work at a 40K and we have 4 1/2 writers. I couldn't imagine being at a paper twice the size and only having six. And yes, the DP used to be a fantastic section. The writers work their ass off there, but there's only so much you can do with that little manpower.

    I'm told others laid off include Matt Dorney and Dave Sentz. Jennifer Williams' job was chopped as well, but she headed over to news.
