Chris has not come out. He was merely drunk and experimenting at the time.

Mr. Newman you have -- in my -- opinion a very strange -- use of the dash -- mark.

    Dash Marx?

Wasn't he the lead character in a radio drama of the 30s? City editor by day, detective by night? A hard-boiled insomniac who packed a .38, a press pass and a weakness for blondes, bourbon and alliteration?

"That's the kind of a lede you can only write with a Tommy gun, Lieutenant. This guy's as full of holes as Larson's last budget meeting piece. Tell the coroner to stet this guy, Lou. He's not going anywhere."

    The sixth Marx Brother.

"Allow me to introduce Hundred-Yard Dash," Groucho said, leering. "He's housebroken.
When he left the last house he'd broken into, he opened up at least a hundred-yard lead on the husband who'd just gotten home, and made it onto the southbound subway with seconds to spare."

Oh, Morrie Ryskind, you were a lucky man.

    Scott,

I have nothing to say. I'm just relieved I don't have to call someone Mr. I'm going back to my usual thing and make sure good stories go unbroken.

    YD&OHS, etc

I love the Times, but the sports section lacks the breadth it used to have.

There are a LOT of (dare I say) far more interesting stories they're missing that do not revolve about baseball, football, and hoop.

Well, he was in Cuba too. You know, the old "Out of the country doesn't count" rule.
