    95001964 -- The Associated Press currently seeks a newsperson for its New York City Bureau.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

    • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience that demonstrates superior writing skills and the ability to quickly synthesize material from multiple sources on big breaking stories.

    • Must have demonstrated the ability to work accurately in a deadline-driven environment in one of the world's most competitive markets.

    • Must have demonstrated the ability to write about a broad range of topics

    • Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines.

    • Ability to speak Spanish a plus.

    • Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language.

    • Authorization to work in the U.S. will be mandatory.

    • Must be able to shoot and edit video professionally.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conceive, report and write compelling, big-sweep, front-page enterprise out of New York City that resonates with national and international readers.

    • Produce fast-turnaround stories on major news of the day in New York that can help drive online traffic.

    • Write with a proven, strong voice to keep the AP competitive with the city's best reporters.

    • Draw on experiences as a national writer or foreign correspondent to bring broad perspective to coverage.
