Seems like, if say, Virginia Tech would get screwed out of five victories and finish 7-5, and you really liked them, it's on to the BCS final for them.

My new pet peeve is this failure to embrace facts/reality. I don't care if Oklahoma would have won, but the Enterprise came down and beamed Oregon's running back into the end zone for the victory. It's still a win.

The people who voted for Purdue and Washington should be identified and ridiculed.

Yeah, you can sure count on Oklahoma to win 9 of 10 against the team that outgained it by 130 yards and against whom it folded under pressure.

I'm not going to defend Oklahoma here, because right or wrong, it did lose. But I don't believe they folded under pressure. Call it momentum.

When two calls go against you like that, it's tough. In basketball, you always see one team or the other making a run. In football, it's not a run, it's momentum. And when the Ducks got the benefit of two calls on their home field, how could they not gain some momentum from that? At the same time, it had to zap Oklahoma's.

Take a pro game, like the Steelers-Colts playoff game. Steelers lead 21-10 when Polamalu picks off a pass, supposedly ending the game. Review reverses the call, the Colts suddenly play with renewed life, get the touchdown and two-point cobversion to climb within three points. And they damn near tied it, except that choke kicker who's gone now, but that's neither here or there.

Point is, calls do affect how the games are played, even in the NFL with grown men. So the same can hold true with young men in college.

Oklahoma didn't fold under pressure. Oklahoma just couldn't overcome a late tidal wave that was far out of their control.

The question with USC is how this Reggie Bush situation is going to turn out. I am not sure, maybe some one can inform me but if Reggie Bush is guilty of violation NCAA rules could it affect this season and maybe keep them out of the National Title game (assuming they can go undefeated the rest of the way)

Ahhh, you'd like to think so... yet, this is the kind of situation headed for a nasty fall -- against John LLLLL Smith

That was with the Colts already in scoring territory. This was with Oklahoma playing defense nowhere near its goal line, and then with a fairly simple field goal attempt to win. Methinks the onside kick issue was long out of the kicker's mind. Players are coached to do their job and not dwell on the refs, or at least should be. The Sooners exposed themselves as not being clutch performers. The only thing that took the game away from them was Oregon.

Actually, the Colts were at their own 44 when that reversal came ...

    http://sports-att.espn.go.com/nfl/playbyplay?gameId=260115011

... Four plays later, the Colts scored then got to the two-point conversion to come back within three points. I know momentum is a lame excuse when you're talking about football, but it can impact a team, even if it's on one player's mind for one play, it might be enough for this or that to happen.

Yes, credit Oregon for rallying to win. But the Sooners were put in a bad position when they didn't really have to be. And they lost.

I guarantee you that the only game Auburn and LSU score less than 20 points in this season came yesterday.

LSU's got one of the better QBs and probably the best group of receivers in the country. Auburn has a solid QB and possibly the best running back in the country. Not to mention that both of them have outstanding offensive lines. A 7-3 game between these two says a lot.

None of this poll shit matters right now anyway. Just good conversation. And with that in mind, you've got to move WVa down. They haven't played anybody. They're the only team around the top five who hasn't. That has to play against them. To me, Louisville and WVa should swap places. Miami might be 1-2, but it's a far cry from the absolute hacks WVa has played.
