Out of curiosity, has anyone out there tried a recorder that transcribes its own notes? I'm looking to get one in the essense of saving time on deadline, but I'm not sure it's worth putting a hurt on my credit card. If it's a good buy, at which one should I look?

    Thanks.

I've never found a recorder that is simple to transcribe on deadline.

If you have tight time constraints, you're not going to be getting quotes long enough to need a recorder, IMO. Take your notes by hand and type up the ones you need.
