No press release issued yet on the new Springsteen album, but Amazon is going to start selling the first single - "We Take Care of Our Own" tomorrow (Jan. 19)

Finally Occupy Wall Street has a sound track. It might be a bit too late though. If only the album had come out sooner the OWS movement might not have fizzled out.

I still contend that the movement's biggest failure was bad music.

The title certainly leads one to think that this will be Angry Bruce. Which is good Bruce. The last CD was dreck, so hopefully that was a one-off.

Saw a rumored track listing which had LOHAD and Wrecking Ball as the final two songs.

First paragraph of that RS makes it sound exciting. Then you hit this.

    The fuck?

I cannot wait for this! I think Bruce is going to spew against what kind of country we have become, judging by that song "We Take Care of Our Own." It's not clear to me if that is going to be the name of the album or what though. Thoughts guys?

Some would accuse Bruce of being an opportunist. I think he is more like a modern day Nostradamus in his ability to predict the pulse of the country at the time his albums are released.

I don't think there is anyone who would ever accuse Bruce of being an opportunist other than a true hater. He could have made millions more if he just put out album after album after album. He puts them out when he has something to say. Plus, he basically checked out for almost a decade to concentrate on being around his family when his kids were young. So no, I really doubt anyone would call him "an opportunist."

Maybe it's more Jon Landau and not Bruce that people would accuse of being the master opportunist / manipulator.

Wow, a Jars of Clay reference. Talk about a band I hadn't thought of since 1995.

I suspect has much to do with the new record.

The poor guy who got laid off at the car wash in '82 now lost his career when his company was downsized by Bain Capitol. History repeats itself and we learned nothing.
