So, by Roy's logic, none of his fans that go to games at Duke or Wake Forest or N.C. State should cheer for his team, because they'd be cheering against the school that they paid the tickets for.
    What an asshole.

Not a chance I walk out of there without saying something to her about it, and if she isn't apologetic about it, I go to the manager. Then again, I'm a bit of hothead. You should have heard me the time a cashier realized she had made a mistake and told me she had "Jewed" me out of my change. :)

Haven't watched the video yet, but this has got to be a joke, right? Can't cheer for the other team?

    Seriously?

It's not clear from watching the video or Roy's explanation MB.

There was a dude having some kind of exchange with Roy who then got escorted out and then Roy refused to say why he singled him out. If the guy was just rooting for Presbyterian, then this is complete horseshit and as a UNC alum and current grad student, I'll be mad as hell.

I want to know more though, such as whether the guy was using vulgarities. Even then, Roy should have a thicker skin. It'd help a lot if we knew what he was saying that set Roy off.

I'm surprised you let it bother you. Have you been a Duke fan for long or are you just super sensitive?

I live in Durham and take flak all around town (including at my church) during basketball season for wearing UNC gear. It's just part of the rivalry and I've never let it bother me, whether it's coming from the cashier at the grocery store who could never even sniff an acceptance letter at Duke to a member of the university staff that lives next door, or one of the retired faculty members in my congregation.

"Why don't you shut up"? Really, Roy?

    What a disingenuous little fuck.

What a bastard. I hope his career ends in scandal.

Burlington Times-News gives better context, and it makes Roy look like a complete ass:

Story says the guy was asked to move by the cops because he wasn't in his ticketed seat.

But apparently what set Roy off in the first place was the dude yelling "Hey Deon, miss it" during a free throw. That's seriously weak and makes me lose a ton of respect for my school's coach.

And I though Southerners knew more about manners than those of us up north. Apparently, not all do.

If you're commenting on my abrasiveness, don't blame that on the South. I'm a transplant from the Midwest.

No, I'm commenting on your inability to understand why golfnut was upset by the cashier's rude behavior.
