If true, that certainly puts a dent in the "they're still MAKING money, just not as much as they want" argument.

Question: Is it true? Calculated per employee, that's a GM-esque burn rate.

Franklin is just the latest Chainsaw Al Dunlap.

Asshole sliced and diced Palm Beach before tucking tail and running to his next Jonestown.

Two of my acquaintances got the axe from the AJC yesterday. They were both only part-time to begin with, but their positions were eliminated. I'm expecting the axe to fall many more times in the next six or so months.

A million a week? What is this a Kevin Costner movie?

I am longing for the days of about six years ago when the AJC sports section was one of the five best in the country.

Yes, the Grim Reaper is alive and well in Atlanta.
Missou, I'm afraid those days are gone forever.

You could say that about a lot of sports sections.

Well this is sad. I'm not sure how many work there, but another whole warehouse of their home delivery people are losing their jobs.

    Fran,
No. They worked in home delivery.

If they're losing $1 million a week, in a city like Atlanta (with only one paper), then their ad staff couldn't sell ass on a troopship.
