    Try this one:

Within the last 15 years, what fulltime sportswriter for a well-known national media entity once made it to sectional qualifying for the U.S. Open?

And, no, he's not some former tour pro moonlighting as a guest columnist or whatever. He's a legit amateur golfer.

Hint: It's not Andy Staples, Pat Forde or even Whitlock.

    You got it, Dan.

    Your turn for a Q.

Okay this one is probably too easy.
Name the sportswriter who was sued for libel, the player who sued him, the magazine that published the article and the magazine the player later became a publisher of.
Also, name the team that originally signed the sportswriter to a contract.

Dan, while you're thinking, let me throw out a softball, not a 16-incher either:

What do Al Gore, Grantland Rice and Jeff Pearlman have in common? Not a trick question with a goofball answer---answer is in keeping with the spirit of this web site.

They all wrote for The Tennessean? I know Gore did. Halberstam too.

Crap. I give up. I'm grabbing my 16-incher and going home

    That's a big-ass sandwich you're taking home.

Here's a hint - both magazines are no longer published.
