New Fantasy Baseball League

I forgot how the keepers affect the draft, I felt like one of those NFL teams that trades all its picks, makes one pick and then doesn’t pick again for hours lol

 

Is it possible for someone to post the draft, by round? I can’t access the league except on my phone, and it's not visible on the app. Would be a helpful reference for potential trades.

That really was fun. Everyone was engaged and chatting throughout and OOP is a real motherfucker and yes he deserves to die and I hope he rots in hell.

 

Looking back on that comment, it feels a little extreme. I mean, I like Conforto and Urias, but damn. lol

Guy, thanks for posting the round-by-round. Somehow, I missed the request.

So, with a few days of the dust settling, how are we feeling about our drafts? I've only really talked to the owners of Bangin' Chains and Nationalists. The latter thought he did okay, but the format threw him a little at the end. I like his offense. The former hadn't had a fantasy team in years and loved it. I'm going to be teasing him relentlessly about going with too many homer picks.

My draft was okay. I probably should have gone with another pitcher over Alonso early. I missed out on a couple of my favorite sleepers late, though I'm glad I got Senzel back. My team seems pretty balanced, though I've got some big injury risks.

Hopefully, we get some more trades going. That's the one piece we haven't discussed, the trading of draft picks. The system allows for it as long as the same number of picks go each way in the deal. So if I traded a player for a third-round pick, I would have to end a later pick back in the deal. Each team has to be at 23 picks going into the draft, with the keepers counting as part of that number. What I'm not sure of is how to get the site to record the traded picks. I may just have to keep a record.

I know we're just out of the draft, but I thought I'd put that out there now.

 

I'm OK with mine, didn't have a lot of early picks due to the guys I kept but I knew I was pretty thin on pitching going in. My catching isn't great but I will be patient with it for a while. Took some flyers near the end which is what I always think you should do especially in deep leagues like this.

 

Agreed. I went in with the idea of doing the same. I think I will do a better job with keeper decisions and the draft next year. I've done keepers for years, but never quite this format, so it was educational as well as enjoyable.

 

I see there is a question about the NA slot on the rosters, which would allow teams to stash a player who is minor-league eligible. To be honest, that was a mistake made during last season that I hadn't fixed, but I think some of you drafted thinking you could use it or added players last night with that in mind, so I would prefer to leave it in place. I hope nobody has a big objection to that.

My apologies for any confusion. As I mentioned before, this is my first time a commissioner of a keeper league and I'm still working out bugs.

 

I didn't even know that was a thing, but now that I do I love it.
