    Pica poles, as back-scratchers, rock.

We used those at my college paper in the late 80s and we had a newbie who called it a "peeka" pole.
Our shop is getting new computers soon, and we say buh-bye to Quark and hi to InDesign (is that how it's spelled?)
I've been using Quark since fall 1989 in college (we started paginating and got rid of the pica poles) so I have mixed feelings but as we all know, nothing lasts forever.

The corners at one end also do a fine job of opening packages.

We use pica poles to cut the "thanks and see you later" cakes for all of the people who have been sent packing.
