There's even another version ... "B1G" ... with the B black and the 1G blue.

And some firm likely got a six-figure payment to come up with that.

To say the Big Ten is getting destroyed on twitter would be putting it lightly.

Whoever came up with the "Legends" and "Leaders" should be shot.

Great moments in marketing, a chapter right next to New Coke. My guess is the names are changed before spring practice, or maybe before the bowl games. Hell, Divisions A and B would be better names.

    A & B would've been better.

    Trophy is Paterno/Stagg.

"Hey! In the century of history in the Big Ten, let's name this thing after someone who has coached here for 17 years, and won a single title! Whooooo!"

As bad as the Big Ten Icons including Penn State players who competing decades before the school joined the damn conference.

In a related development, the SEC is changing its division names to "Hatfields" and "McCoys"

So my beloved Indiana football will be at the bottom of the division...but they'll still be "Leaders". Yeehaw!

Provably and Demonstrably would be better

And let's think about this. We're not going to name the divisions after Bo and Woody, because it pisses on the traditions of the other 10 schools, but we will name the championship trophy after the coach of a school that hasn't been in the conference in 64 years and a 980-year-old coach who won one title in his school's 17 years in the league.
I mean, Indiana's been in forever, won the same number of outright titles and Bo McMillin gets pissed on again.
