To hear Brewers owner Mark Attanasio tell it at the team's fan fest Sunday, it's not the loss of the draft pick preventing Lohse from wearing a Milwaukee uniform.

"You have to look at the total picture. We're mindful of the fact that if we do add some pieces (at midseason) we may have to give up some young players. The draft pick compensation hasn't been as big an item for us as it has been for other teams. We've got the No. 17 pick."

Perhaps. I don't see them the same way. Myers has just been erratic. Lohse actually got significantly better. It happened at an unusually late stage of his career, but given Dave Duncan's track record, that doesn't mean it isn't legitimate improvement. That said, he's old enough to start seeing some real physical decline, so I doubt he's getting the money Boras expects to get.

You would have to remind me of 2002.

I pray to Babe Ruth than A-Roid is released from the Hankees and no one picks him up.

    475 sounds a little low.

Would love to see A-Roid scuffling around, going the Man-Ram route...picking up some at-bats for the D-Rays or Orioles before playing overseas. Maybe a few years from now we can read about how he hit 46 home runs for the Lake Erie Crushers of the Frontier League and is hoping to make a comeback.

I predict Josh Hamilton will not have deer antlers hanging in his locker this season.
