  1. Hi everyone,
I wanted to invite you to join the Shold Media Group! We are a collective of young media professionals looking to expand our network, meet new people in the industry and learn ways to get better at our craft.

To join SMG it is as simple as clicking 'LIKE' on our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/sholdmediagroup) and following us on Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/sholdmediagroup)

We are always looking for people to contribute to our website as well - contact us at http://www.sholdmediagroup.com/contact

So fetch us a beer and tell us what the hell you're about beyond the buzzwords (if this post lasts until the morning).

  3. Well thanks for asking! If you check out our website we are a great source for information regarding journalism and how to make it in the media. We all know that 'it's who you know, not what you know' sometimes and SMG aims to connect journalists together.

Hope that helps explains a bit better!

Someone hired a 19-year-old PR person who loves exclamation points.

In all seriousness, at this point in the business, I can't frown on anything that might help people make connections.

They all appear to be Canuckistanis, so that might factor in the decision making process for those of us who live in the States.

Well, now we know what happened to the press shop from the Lamar Alexander campaigns.

The girls might be attractive as portrayed on the website at http://www.sholdmediagroup.com/events/, but be forewarned that people here probably wouldn't fit in with that crowd.

    Shouldn't this thread be called:
Networking Group for Journalists ... loudmouth radio jocks and TV "personalities"

    Hey-O!

Where's the LinkedIn group, since that site is geared towards what SMG is trying to do?
