Have you seen West Wing yet?

Can I stream something through the Tivo downstairs at the same time my wife watches something on her laptop?

Does Tivo stream Netflix? (I don't know since I don't have it).

I know two people can watch Netflix on the same account at the same time.

    Yes

So does the $75 Blue Ray DVD player we have.

Agreed. Also second the HIMYM recommendation.

I've been very into the BBC series lately. The only one I don't watch is Doctor Who (way too much backstory to get caught up on there) but I enjoy the crap out of Downton Abbey and Sherlock. Especially Sherlock (new episodes in a week and a half!) which actually might be my favorite recent adaptation of the Holmes series.

Wenders: Try Luther, if you haven't. At least if you like cops with issues.

  7. Among others that have already been mentioned:
    Rome
    Carnivale

I watched the first season of Louie, the FX network series from comedian Louie C.K. It's funny and sad all at the same time. If you like his stand-up stuff at all, it's worth watching.

HBO's In Treatment is another good one. If you're an HBO subscriber you can probably get the HBO Go streaming service. Most of the big providers offer it. I run it to the TV through a Roku. I've enjoyed that a lot. Hopefully they keep it an add-on to your subscription and don't try to charge extra for it.

I can't give advice to anyone who finds 'Flight of the Conchords' lacking.

I don't even know how to process that opinion.

Homeland not available yet at Nexflix as far as I can tell.

I believe only the first season is currently out on DVD.
